Wash Day 2/29/12

Good morning, beauties! I am currrently unable to post pictures of my hair but when I am able to, I will certainly edit this blog post. I'm so excited about the way my hair came out, it's beautiful. I didn't even realise how many products I didn't need when it comes to just simple styling.

I'd like to start off by saying that if any of you have seen my new page titled "Regimen" I was totally confused about a PreePoo. Lemme tell ya'! PP'ing was probably the best desicion I ever made in my life in regards to my hair. As I have stated, my hair retains LOTS of moiture. It doesn't take very much in order for it to shine like the sun, and it doesn't take much for me too look like I belong on hotghtettomess dot com. (My boyfriend says that, lol.)

But I'm going to go through my run down. I followed my regimen, minus the wrap lotion, and if you read yesterday's post about the Aphogee, then we all know what happen to that. :( But, an-tee-way!

Yesterday, I PP'd my hair with a mix of African Pride's Olive Growth Oil mixed with water. It was so diluted that the oil was actually at the top of the bottle, so every time, before I sprayed I shook up my solution.

Best decision ever! Anyway, I put on a shower cap and I let the natural heat from my body do it's thing. Another contributing factor was the steam from the shower I took. My only downfall that I didn't detangle my hair. BAD MISTAKE. So I washed my scalp with Sauve Almond and Shea Shampoo, and agitated my scalp with the pads of my fingers.

Afterward, I deep conditioned for one hour with this:

And to my surprise, it did better than expected. I found it in our bathroom cabinet and applied to my hair. Shampoo = Scalp, Conditioner = Hair. I took a nap and everything and once I rinsed, I immediatley noticed a difference. The bottle says leave in for 3 minutes, but my hair is very corse and thick, so I added extra timing. When I looked in the sink, I only had TWO STRANDS OF HAIR IN THE SINK. I virtually had no breakage! I solute the PP for that. :) But my DC has made my hair so soft, and gentle, and flowly, a beautiful! Then I applied my leave-in:

I had to spray a lot in order to aid in detangling. If you've read in my hair tab, I like the Motions but Motions contains alcohol. I was determined to make my Aphogee work. Well in the end I lost a CLUMP OF HAIR. Due to my not detangling prior to PP'ing. Siiiiigh. I'll post a picture of my lost hair. And I also applied Organix Coconut Milk Anti-Breakage Serum to my ends, and VERY LITTLE through my hair as a heat protectant.

That stuff is the bomb, and it smells sooooo yummy! :) I love it. When I was down, I combed my hair down and let it hang, I did a length check and got under my hooded dryer set to low heat. Lemme tell ya'! God is good! I thought it would take forever, but I wasn't under the dryer a good 45 minutes. PRAISE JESUS! I'll also post my "afro" later. Lol. I flat ironed my hair, with no more products added, because when I got under the dryer I had a generous amount of shine. Just lovely! I have to post my flat iron results, but my end product comes from my overnight wrapping. When I took it down this morning: bouncy, flawless, shiny, beautiful hair. :D I was sooo proud of myself!

Now I need to optimise for growth, LOL. That Olive Oil has "growth miracle" on it and it does work! I defenately recommend it to anyone. Plus it's good for skin and nails. So amazing :) I'll be sure to post my pictures once I am able to!

Oh! I ordered my free KeraCare samples by the advice of Vee! You guys have a blessed day! :)

I am so happy about my hair :D Although my ends are like...in need of intensive care. Sigh. Lol

Stress free 2012!

Check out my new Regimen Page! :D
Feed back is VERY MUCH appreciated! :-)

Yesterday, I was actually trying to post from my phone on my experience with the Aphogee foaming wrap lotion. I actually lost half of the bottle, and I've only used it once. I'm also supposed to post on my wash day >_< But I had a mishap which will be explained once I figure out how to get my phone to post my last blog.

Well, good day ladies, and the occasional gent! Before I get started I'd like to introduce the lovely Vee of http://thehodgepodgefiles.blogspot.com/! She's pretty sweet and I think you should check out her blog, or better yet, her fabulous hair :D. I wonder how she manages to get those twists to look so flawless? She and I need to swap hands for a year because hers are gifted. :)

Now, on the nitty gritty! I still have yet to post my 101 in 1001. Siiiiigh. Lol. But I do have a list of guidelines that I will make an effort to follow throughout the year 2012, and I'd also like to share them with you all who may be reading.

  • Read the Bible every night, preceeded by prayer (understanding) and followed by prayer on said scriptures. (My boyfriend and I are actually following a YouVersion reading plan together, and I will also write about this in the future :D)
  • Stop caring about what other people think of me
  • Stop letting other people think for me
  • Stop being so sensetive/taking things so persoanlly
  • Don't be afraid to talk and meet people!
  • Actually tell people how you feel, politely.
  • Eliminate negative values in your life (cursing, drama, profane music out of my life.)
  • Go on at least 6 fasts this year!
  • Read at least 12 self help books to boost personal developement.
  • Have fun and enjoy myself! You're not a child anymore, so enjoy it in an orderly fashion. Lol.
  • Work out >___>;
  • Eat healthy
  • Cast my cares on God
  • Listen to diffrent points of view
  • Work hard, play later
  • Make me happy! Do what makes me smile! It's time to stop worrying about the satisfaction of others, it's your time now. ALL ABOUT YOU.
  • Make room - meaning: clean out all that useless junk, considering you're about to go to college and you can't take any of it with you :P

My Aphogee!! (Mobile Post)

My poor poor Aphogee :'(
I only got to use it once and due to the cap being loose, it spilled all in the container that I use to hold my hair products and the picture shows what I left of it. At first, I was so upset that I wanted to try to get my money back, but my boyfriend talked some sense into me as I don't have any proof of what happened. I even tried pouring what was left in the supply container back into the bottle but the ink from the container's sticker got into the solution and now it is BLACK. I refuse to put anything like that in my hair, since I'm not sure what trouble it would cause. Sigh. I guess you win some and you lose some. I told God that I would just count that as a loss and try a new wrap and setting lotion. On the bright side, the only time I did use it yielded some pretty good results. But I put wayyy too much heat protectant on my head (Organix Coconut Milk Anti-Breakage Serum) and it made my hair very oily. I know it says to put it on my ends but I tried it as a heat protectant as well to slick it back on wet hair. I'm too embarrassed to post pictures of the results. I can't wait to wash my hair again. LOL. Have any of you ever had any recent hair mishaps?

Thank You :)

"Thank you Lord for keeping me
Thank you Lord for that day you came and broke the chains and set me free
Thank you for another chance, you gave me joy now I can dance
...Thank you lord for one more day, you made the raindrops go away
Thank you ‘cause my pain is gone, I know it came to make me strong
Thank you for another chance, you gave me joy now I can dance!"
-Kirk Franklin and Mary Mary Thank You

Good morning ladies & the occasional gent! First I'd like to thank the good Lord Himself for waking me up bright and early on such a fine morning. Even though, I should have gone to church with my boyfriend. :-/ But, I'm looking for ways to get more in tune to God's voice. I'm researching a reading plan, yay YouVersion!, that I can follow so that I can get more in touch with The Word, then I'll be able to answer to God. :) I actually met a young lady in one of my classes and she was telling me of her experience with God. She explained to me how she was singing, but she didn't know the lyrics to the song, but she said it was as if God was standing in front of her pouring out the words. She felt the anointing rushing through her body as I concluded! :) When I told her about the YouVersion reading plans, she was like "Just read the Bible! You don't need a reading plan! Just READ. Open that Book and READ."

This brought me great pleasure :D, I've been meeting just so many people who are chosen for quite sometime now. I'll do a post on "Chosen" one day, but I don't think that I will have time today.

Yesterday, I started a 101 things in 1001 days. I have yet to view the entire list, because I registered and pick the goals on my phone. I only did ones in which the "Idea Finder" set me up. Which were actually pretty good for personal development.

In other news, I plan on washing my hair because I get to hang out with my boyfriend and his family all day. I'd like to say that God has showed me the ultimate blessing that my boyfriend will receive in the future and he doesn't even realise it. :D It feels great to know that the Lord has provided me with information in order to protect His chosen.

Back to my hair! Lol. I'll see if I can post today's regimen, if I am able to come back to the computer. So check back for that. And I also plan on doing product reviews for almost each product that I use in my stable. Then the reviews will come from use of products that I just happen to come across.

Also, I'm going to try to eat a healthy, happy, hearty (lol) meal for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. -crosses fingers- Just pray that works well! Haha. Also, I'll post about recipies or healthy foods that I will try.

Have a blessed day, Lovelies!

New blog :)

I think it is cool how I can easily post from my phone. Anyway, this is a blog dedicated to me, a healthy lifestyle, a healthy hair journey (relaxed) & a healthy relationship with God. Things are certainly working out for the better & his is just my little space to vent. Its not about the posts or comments, its about sharing faith with other people under the Kingdom of God. :) The Lord has certainly brought us all through & happily embrace & celebrate considering He's still working in my life. :) Let the posting begin.
