Regimen

Regimen as of February 28, 2012

This is my general "regimen template" (?), but I am still experimenting with diffrent products to add to my stable until I am completely comfortable and satisfied.

PrePoo: I haven't decided if I will PP over night or not. Because I bought a shampoo containing sulfate (Sauve Almond and Shea Butter, it smells so yummy), so I know that this is essential. So I'll try in different increments of time, because my hair tends to hold a lot of oil and is really prone to build up and itchiness. Also; I'm trying to use up that sulfate shampoo until I have used the entire bottle and can move on to one that is sulfate-free. (Preferably KeraCare.) Once I start PP'ing I'm confused as to what product I should use. Any recommondations? I'm willing to try EVOO, Coconut Oil, Argon Oil, and Grapeseed Oil, based on reviews. (What do you use for PP'ing?)
  • Shampoo 2 times with agitation from finger pads
  • DC for 15 minutes
  • Rinse, either with lukewarm water or cold water (as much as I can stand)
  • Leave ins
  • Wrap lotion
  • Mininum heat protection; because a little going a long way
  • Dyer for 45 minutes to an hour
  • Flat iron and/or bump with my curling iron
I need to learn how to adjust this regimen to suit the needs of my hair until I can play around more with products. I am going to try to tweak it as much as possible until I learn how to complete a successful roller set (I am learning), because eventually I want to be able to roller-set and air dry. MINIMAL HEAT USAGE IS THE WAY TO GO FOR ME. LOL

I will post the products in my stable later. I'm thinking about making a Fotki. :) You all wouldn't believe how broke off my hair is. :'( I'm in desprete need of a trim. MY ENDS ARE SCREAMING "WHAT ARE YOU DOING TO ME?!" Like, seriously.

But please, please, please make recommendations. What do you think I should do to improve? What about the PP'ing? Please help. :-P

  1. I use EVOO and EVCO to pre-poo. I personally wouldn't recommend using Argon Oil for pre-pooing only b/c it is one of the more expensive oils. U can also pre-poo using conditioner on dry or damp hair. I saw try them all out and see what works best for your hair. I also use 100% pure honey when I'm further in my stretch. It is a staple for me! Also make sure you are using a heat protectant when flat ironing to reduce heat damage. Any more questions hit me up on my blog. HHG.
